The Simona Tower is a tower in Baix Empordà, that the Generalitat, the Catalan government, declared a cultural asset of interest.
The Simona Tower was renovated in the 70s and preserved in good condition.
The element that probably originated in the 14th-15th centuries is one of the region’s most interesting and best preserved.
It is a defense tower, 20m high, with a rectangular floor plan that preserves the openings encircling the upper part well preserved. The original door is preserved, elevated, and semicircular.
Inside, you can still find the stairs used by the inhabitants to climb from one floor to another in case of attack.
It is an exquisite tower with some beautiful finials at the top, in the form of an arch, four on the two longest sides and 3 on the short sides. It preserves the remains of loopholes and some interesting openings, the most interesting of which is a pointed arch portal with regular stone voussoirs.
Under the protection of Law 16/1985 on Spanish Historical Heritage.
